Avengers #1 (2016)
Plot Synopsis – “The time has come. Their ranks shattered by Civil War, their spirits weighed down by a toll both personal and spiritual, Earth’s mightiest heroes must find the resolve to stand united one final time against their greatest foe. Captain America. Thor. The Vision. The Wasp. Spider-Man. Hercules. When the dust settles, not a one of these valiant heroes will make it to the final page alive. This is KANG WAR ONE!” P.S if you didn’t know, this is a new title that is part of Marvel NOW! This series is written by Mark Waid, who previously wrote All-New All-Different Avengers. Avengers is being drawn by Mike Del Mundo. (Not to be confused with Mike Deodato Jr., who helped drew the 2012 Avengers title.)
Opinion – Avengers #1 is a great start to The Avengers! It’s has an interesting start to a story arc that will leave you wanting more. Their is good character interactions in this issue especially during the combat. I love the new team that is established in this issue. I look forward to learning about Hercules and the new Wasp in future issues. We also learn from this issue that Tony Stark is not dead but in “rough shape” according to Captain America, which is awesome because I thought he was dead.

The Unworthy Thor #1
Plot Synopsis – The Odinson’s desperate search to regain his worthiness has taken him out into the cosmos where he’s learned of the existence of a mysterious other Mjolnir. This weapon of unimaginable power, a relic from a dead universe, is the key to Odinson’s redemption — but some of the greatest villains of the Marvel Universe are now anxious to get their hands on it as well. Can The Odinson reclaim his honor or will the power of thunder be wielded for evil? The quest for the hammer begins here.
Opinion – If you read Secret War you are aware that at the end of that event Thor lost the ability to wield Mjolnir. Ever since then he has been on the back burner in the Marvel Comics. In The Unworthy Thor #1 we see him come back with his own series and how it shows how the lack of powers has taken a toll on him. He misses being able to defend the universe and wielding thunder. I think its awesome that we see this side of the Son of Odin. Tell me who doesn’t love a good redemption story ?

Death of X #3
Plot Synopsis – Cyclops and Emma Frost begin to hatch their plan. The Inhumans cross a line with the mutants.
Opinion – This was an alright issue. I really like the Inhuman team even though they did something really stupid. I love how the writer, Charles Soule, is not rushing a climax but build towards one. Jeff also does a pretty good job representing the huge cast of characters. There are no mischaracterizations of any hero or villain in this event which is impressive. The art is absolutely well done and we have Aaron Kuder to thank for that.
Story – 6.5

Plot Synopsis – Welcome to the CHAMPIONS, Cyclops! Unfortunately, not all of your new would-be teammates feel the same way
Opinion – This a good issue to learn about Mrs. Marvel, Hulk, Nova, and Spider-Man’s abilities. The team really clicks in this issues which makes the comic more fun to read. There’s a fair amount of humor in this issue which might indicate what type of tone the will maintain. In any case, I look forward to reading next month’s issue.
Story – 9
Plot Synopsis – In The Name Of The Father” Part One. For the first time, the Man of Tomorrow and the Boy of Steel team up with the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder in a father-son adventure you won’t want to miss. Damian Wayne has been hearing a lot about this mysterious new Superboy and now is his chance to find out who this enigmatic character really is…
Opinion – Ever since we learned about Jon we wanted to see him and Damien interact in some way. It finally happened in Superman #10 and it was awesome! In Superman #10 we see Batman and Superman bond like never before over the joy of being a father. This was great to see because it shows how old these characters really are and how far they have come. Then we see Damien and Jon do not get along which I expected because they have two totally different personalities which clash together. I loved this issue, and I highly recommend it.
